Cancer du col utérin et épanchement péricardique
Uterine cervical carcinoma and pericardial effusion
Une patiente de 64 ans est traitée par chimiothérapie pour un cancer du col utérin avec adénopathies abdominales et thoraciques connues. Elle est admise aux Soins Intensifs dans un contexte de fièvre et de tamponnade cardiaque secondaire à un volumineux épanchement péricardique. Aucun diagnostic précis ne sera apporté par l’analyse du liquide ou l’histologie du péricarde. Une mise au point complémentaire est réalisée et le diagnostic différentiel des épanchements péricardiques est discuté dans le contexte d’une affection néoplasique. Rev Med Brux 2007 ; 28 : 439-44
A 64 year-woman has been treated by chemotherapy for a uterine cervical carcinoma with known pathological lymph nodes in the abdomen and in the thorax. She is admitted in our Intensive Care Unit for fever and cardiac tamponade attributed to a large pericardial effusion. No diagnostic could be concluded from the analysis of the liquid or the pericardial biopsy. Complementary investigations are performed and the differential diagnosis of pericardial effusion is discussed in the context of a neoplastic disease. Rev Med Brux 2007 ; 28 : 439-44
