Lucien Lison (1907-1984), the " father of histochemistry " : from Brussels to São Paulo
Lucien Lison (1907-1924) est considéré comme le " père de l’histochimie ". Il commença sa carrière à l’Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) dans le service d’histologie. Il publia un grand nombre de travaux relatif à l’histochimie, dont un traité qui obtint un grand succès. En 1953, il fut invité par la Faculté de Médecine de Ribeirâo Presto (Université de São Paulo, Brésil) afin d’y diriger le Département d’Histologie. Il y poursuivit son oeuvre et y termina sa carrière.
Lucien Lison (1907-1924) is considered as the " father of histochemistry ". He began his career at the University Libre de Bruxelles, in the department of histology. He published a large number of works about histochemistry, including a successfull textbook. In 1953, he was invited by the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirâo Presto (University of São Paulo, Brazil) to rule the local department of histology. He pursued his work and ended his career in Brazil.
