Présentation inhabituelle d’un sarcome histiocytaire
Unusual presentation of histiocytic sarcoma
Le sarcome histiocytaire est une néoplasie extrêmement rare. La localisation amygdalienne est inhabituelle. Nous rapportons le cas d’un patient âgé de 47 ans présentant une masse amygdalienne gauche augmentant progressivement de volume. La biopsie de la masse était en faveur d’un sarcome histiocytaire, la tomographie par émission de positrons (TEP) a objectivé une atteinte amygdalienne et ganglionnaire sus et sous-diaphragmatique. Un traitement à base de CHOP (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicine, prednisone et vincristine) a été démarré avec une bonne évolution après un an de suivi.
Histiocytic sarcoma is an extremely rare neoplasia. We report the case of a 47-year-old patient with a left tonsillar mass progressively increasing in volume. The biopsy of the mass showed a histiocytic sarcoma. Positron emission tomography (PET) scan showed tonsillar and lymph node involvement above and below the diaphragm. A treatment with CHOP (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicine, prednisone and vincristine) was started with a good evolution after oneyear follow up.
