Résumé
La polymédication chez les personnes âgées constitue
un enjeu majeur de santé publique. Elle est associée
à un risque accru d’effets indésirables, d’interactions
médicamenteuses et de perte d’autonomie. En l’absence
de recommandations nationales belges spécifiques,
les critères explicites STOPP (Screening Tool
of Older Persons’ Prescriptions) et START (Screening
Tool to Alert to Right Treatment), élaborés pour détecter
les prescriptions potentiellement inappropriées,
constituent un outil d’aide à l’optimisation des prescriptions.
